Shield PhD This is a 25 page Children's picture book. I have used pictures taken across Spain and two paper dolls to create this unique story book. As a devoted fan of Don Quixote, I was fortunate enough to accidently come across his famous windmills on my journey across Spain. My journey also took me to the enchanted village of Rodenas, which quite coincidently is my wife Rose’s maiden name. The two events combined to create this imaginary tale. It is also my intention to include a section at the back of the book with the original images that form the background for my story. As a retired archaeologist and broadcaster who started life as a photojournalist I have a large collection of photographs taken around the world. My aim is to create a series of Children's picture books around the characters of Don Quixote and Sancho, the first of which I have provisionally titled "Don Quixote and the Windmills" I have used my original photographs and then created paintings using photo editing software. The next in the series will see Don and Sancho visit Malta where "The Knight with the Woeful Countenance" will visit the eventual home of the Knight's Templar and the Knights of Malta. It was on the island of Malta that I did my archaeological work in the 50's and based my book on the Shroud of Turin "In the Image of His God - the curse of the Shroud" which I self published last year. I will also create "Don Quixote and the Shroud of Turin", which will explain the history of the Shroud to Children. In October this year (2010) I am going to hold a series of workshops to teach the art of creating and publishing Children's Picture Books. Rome Reports has posted this interesting video about flaws in the carbon-14 tests that indicated the Shroud of Turin is not the burial cloth of Jesus.
But Italian scientists now have concluded the 1988 tests were conducted improperly and therefore that their findings — that the shroud is a forgery created in the medieval period — should be rejected and new tests conducted.
Other scientific tests conducted on the shroud indicate it was made in the Holy Land at around the time of the death of Christ.
